Consulting with clients and the vendors we represent affords QAS the opportunity to present new ideas and creative solutions to the entire marketplace. From a pension services perspective, during the last 20 years we have been a leader in several areas:

• QAS was the first company to place terminal funding annuities in 1981

• QAS introduced a proprietary interrogative underwriting technique for SPGA bid specifications

• QAS has served as a primary consultant to a multitude of insurers regarding the single premium group annuity market

• Joseph B. Bellersen, Jr., President of Qualified Annuity Services, while a member of the Association of Private Pension and Welfare Plans (APPWP), was the principal author of the APPWP response to the DOL and PBGC in 1991 when those governmental agencies developed annuity rule making standards

• Bellersen wrote an article published by the Pension Benefit Journal, 1995 Winter Edition titled "Annuity Selection Standards: "A New Challenge for Plan Fiduciaries" discussing the pending issuance of Department of Labor Interpretive Bulletin 95-1

• Bellersen wrote a subsequent article published by the Pension Benefit Journal, 1997 Summer Edition titled "Changes in PBGC Plan Termination Procedures" discussing required plan disclosures to participants

• QAS has developed proprietary reporting and analysis to support the fiduciary decision-making process; and,

• QAS has designed unique structures for client situations.
